Selected from qualifying countries in the EU, each actor has already made a name for themselves in their homeland and are on the verge of stepping onto the international stage.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This year the actors selected for the European Shooting Stars are:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Marina Makris (Cyprus)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Besir Zeciri (Denmark)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Maarja Johanna M\u00e4gi (Estonia)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Devrim Lingnau (Germany)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El\u00edn Hall (Iceland)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">K\u0101rlis Arnolds Avots (Latvia)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u0160ar\u016bnas Zenkevi\u010dius (Lithuania)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lidija Kordi\u0107 (Montenegro)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Vicenta Wallenstein (Portugal)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Frida Gustavsson (Sweden)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the Berlinale, the actors were introduced to casting directors, agents, industry professionals and press so they can build an international network to further develop their performing careers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The event culminated in a ceremony where Montenegrin performer Lidija Kordi\u0107 was presented with the Shooting Star Award. Lidija was recognised for her role in the Italian film <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Diva Futura<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival in 2024. Upon receiving the award, Lidija dedicated the award to \u201call the little girls who dream big dreams, and of course, to my family.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lidija joins a prestigious alumni of previous winners including Rachel Weisz, Daniel Craig, Andrew Scott, Ruth Negga, Daniel Br\u00fchl, Alicia Vikander, Riz Ahmed, Carey Mulligan, Maisie Williams, George McKay and Carla Juri.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As a supporter of performers and their careers, Spotlight was proud to be part of this year\u2019s event.
