{"id":7475,"date":"2025-01-14T10:06:50","date_gmt":"2025-01-14T10:06:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.spotlight.com\/?p=7475"},"modified":"2025-06-02T16:26:21","modified_gmt":"2025-06-02T16:26:21","slug":"new-west-end-and-touring-stage-shows-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.spotlight.com\/news-and-advice\/the-industry\/new-west-end-and-touring-stage-shows-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"New West End and Touring Stage Shows Coming in 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Eight new stage productions that are touring the UK and coming to the West End you won\u2019t want to miss this year.<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As we welcome in a brand new year, we can\u2019t help but look back on 2024 and celebrate the productions that wowed audiences on London\u2019s West End and up and down the UK.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We saw worthy productions being commended for their achievements, such as biographical musical <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MJ: The Musical,<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which took home three wins at the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.spotlight.com\/news-and-advice\/list-of-winners-black-british-theatre-awards-2024\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Black British Theatre Awards<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sunset Boulevard<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which equalled the record at the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.spotlight.com\/news-and-advice\/olivier-award-winners-2024-announced\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Olivier Awards<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for its seven wins.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Other shows that have wowed audiences this year include:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The comedy play <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Faulty Towers,<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which is still treading the boards of The Apollo Theatre until March.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Elton John\u2019s new musical adaptation of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Devil Wears Prada<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> opened at the Dominion Theatre in November and continues to play to sold-out audiences.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Six<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> creators Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss brought their hilarious new musical, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Why Am I So Single?<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to the West End, which is playing until 19 January 2025 \u2013 be quick if you haven&#8217;t seen it!\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, with 2024 out of the way and 2025 well and truly here, we\u2019re ready for these eight new productions that will be gracing the boards in London and going on tour around the UK this year.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here &amp; Now<\/span><\/i><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Casting by Spotlight member Will Burton, CDG<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Who doesn\u2019t love a jukebox musical from one of the biggest pop bands in British history? <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here &amp; Now<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is the comedy musical that tells the story of \u2018Caz\u2019, a shop assistant from a British seaside town, as she finds out secrets that will change everything she knows to be true.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Musical theatre guru Rachel Kavanaugh directs this hilarious new musical featuring songs from Steps, including \u20185, 6, 7, 8<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2019<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, \u2018Better Best Forgotten<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2019<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and many, many more.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kicking off the UK and Ireland tour in Aylesbury\u2019s Waterside Theatre in August and running through to May 2026, the cast of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here &amp; Now<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> includes Spotlight members Rebecca Lock, Hiba Elchikhe and Sharlene Hector, alongside Blake Patrick Anderson.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Miss Saigon<\/span><\/i><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Casting by Sarah Leung, CDG<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Michael Harrison, in association with Cameron Mackintosh, brings <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Miss Saigon<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to the stage once again. The iconic musical returns to the UK in a new production, kicking off in Newcastle in October 2025.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It tells the heart-breaking tale of \u2018Kim\u2019, a 17-year-old girl who works in a notoriously dangerous bar as the Vietnam War comes to an end. \u2018Kim\u2019 falls in love with an American soldier, \u2018Chris\u2019, only for their relationship to be torn apart as Saigon falls.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The cast of this epic new production is yet to be announced, but it will feature hit songs from the original soundtrack, including \u2018Last Night of the World\u2019 and \u2018The Heat is on in Saigon\u2019.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Jamie Lloyd Company\u2019s <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Tempest<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &amp; <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Much Ado About Nothing<\/span><\/i><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Casting by Spotlight member Stuart Burt, CDG<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Two exciting new productions of Shakespeare\u2019s <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Tempest<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Much Ado About Nothing<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> make their way to London\u2019s West End this winter. Both productions are produced and staged by The Jamie Lloyd Company, whose previous productions include the award-winning <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sunset Boulevard<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 just opened on Broadway \u2013 and <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Romeo + Juliet,<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> starring Tom Holland and Francesca Amewudah-Rivers, which played at the Duke of York\u2019s Theatre in London in summer 2024.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Tempest<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is currently playing at The Theatre Royal Drury Lane until February 2025 and stars Sigourney Weaver as \u2018Prospero\u2019.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Much Ado About Nothing<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> opens later in the year, also playing at the Theatre Royal, and will feature the talents of Spotlight members Hayley Atwell and Tom Hiddleston. Opening off the back of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Tempest<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> it will run from 10 February until April 2025.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Titanique the Musical<\/span><\/i><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Casting by Spotlight members James &amp; Rosie Pearson, CDG, CDA, CSA<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now playing at London\u2019s Criterion Theatre, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Titanique the Musical<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is a musical-comedy that wowed audiences off-Broadway and is now setting sail in London\u2019s West End.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Told through the beloved song book of Celine Dion, including classic songs like \u2018My Heart Will Go On\u2019<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and \u2018Beauty and the Beast\u2019 \u2013 and based on the Oscar-winning film <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Titanic<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 this brand new show is entertaining audiences with its side-splitting comedy and powerhouse performances from now until March 2025.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Spotlight member Lauren Drew takes on the role of \u2018Celine\u2019 and is joined by West End favourites Jordan Luke Cage and Spotlight members Rob Houchen and Layton Williams.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hercules the Musical<\/span><\/i><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Casting by Spotlight member Natalie Gallacher, CDG<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After many years of fans waiting patiently for this crowd favourite to finally make its way to London\u2019s West End, it\u2019s finally happening! Based on the beloved Disney film, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hercules the Musical<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will open at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in June and is currently booking through to March 2026.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The musical tells the story of \u2018Hercules\u2019, the son of \u2018Zeus\u2019, as he goes from zero to hero while winning over the heart of \u2018Meg\u2019, a damsel in distress who\u2019s made a deadly deal with the god of the underworld, \u2018Hades\u2019. With songs from Disney legend Alan Menken, the soundtrack features all the hits: \u2018Zero to Hero\u2019, \u2018Go the Distance\u2019 and \u2018I Won\u2019t Say I\u2019m in Love\u2019.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The full cast is yet to be announced, but Spotlight member Luke Brady is confirmed to be starring in the lead role.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Prat Pack<\/span><\/i><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Shane Ritchie and Spotlight members Bradley Walsh, Brian Conley and Joe Pasquale come together in this comedy variety show \u2013 alongside a 15-piece band \u2013 to perform songs from the original Brat Pack and comedy sets that will have audiences up and down the country in stitches in <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Prat Pack<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Already selling out at many of the theatres it\u2019s passing through, this hilarious new show kicks off its UK tour in Sunderland in April 2025, before heading to Stoke, Milton Keynes, Torquay and finishing up in Oxford in May.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Girl on The Train<\/span><\/i><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Casting by Spotlight member Ginny Schiller, CDG<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Three leading ladies take on the role of Rachel Watson in this exciting new adaptation of the best-selling Paula Hawkins novel. Spotlight members Giovanna Fletcher, Laura Whitmore and Louise Lytton will share the lead role in the production while on its UK tour.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Girl on The Train<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> tells the story of \u2018Rachel\u2019 who becomes infatuated with a couple she sees from a train window on her daily commute, she finds herself daydreaming about what her life could be.
