Kharmel Cochrane shines a spotlight on the casting process for <\/span>Bob Marley: One Love, <\/span><\/i>commercials <\/span>and how she likes to audition performers.\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

We were delighted to host a private screening of <\/span>Bob Marley: One Love<\/span><\/i> for Spotlight members followed by a question and answer session with the film’s casting director, Kharmel Cochrane.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kharmel Cochrane is arguably one of the busiest casting directors in the business. Film credits to her name include <\/span>Nosferatu<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>Saltburn<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>Rye Lane<\/span><\/i> and <\/span>The Northman<\/span><\/i>, to name but a few. She also works across television (<\/span>Lady Chatterley\u2019s Lover<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>Everything Now<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>Lockwood & Co<\/span><\/i>.), short films, music videos and is known for her love of commercials, recently casting 2024\u2019s M&S Christmas ad.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the Spotlight screening event, David Flynn, Director of Partnerships at Spotlight, moderated the Q&A session, asking Kharmel questions that had been sent to us by our members on social media. Spotlight members who attended the event also had the opportunity to ask questions and the session provided valuable insight into the casting process of a major biopic.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
