It\u2019s where casting professionals put their job posts (also known as breakdowns) which detail the productions and roles they\u2019re currently casting for. If you find a role that\u2019s suitable for you, you can be submitted for it by either you or your agent, depending on your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spotlight.com\/news-and-advice\/self-submitting-for-roles-on-spotlight\/\">level of access<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Over 2,500 roles are posted on the Jobs Feed every month, so it\u2019s important to <a href=\"#edit-filters\">add appropriate filters<\/a> to ensure you only see roles that are suitable for you.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here is how you can navigate the Jobs Feed, what the different parts of it contain, and how to edit your filters on Spotlight:<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How Do I View the Spotlight Jobs Feed?<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can access the Jobs Feed by following the steps below:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/portal.spotlight.com\/portal\/signin\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sign into your Spotlight account<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> using your registered email address and password.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click on \u2018Jobs Feed\u2019, which can be found in the collapsible menu at the top left of the screen and may already be open for you, and also in the \u2018Quick Links\u2019 section to the right of the home page.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The Layout of the Jobs Feed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When opening the Jobs Feed on your Spotlight profile, you\u2019ll be presented with four sections at the top of the page. Please note that the names of these sections will vary depending on whether you\u2019re viewing the Jobs Feed through your web browser or <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.spotlight.com\/news-and-advice\/new-spotlight-performers-app-released\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the Spotlight app<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. These sections are:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Matching my Filter<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This section contains all the jobs that match your filter settings.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This will be the default section that the Jobs Feed opens on.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you\u2019re viewing the Jobs Feed through the Spotlight app, this section will be called \u2018My Jobs\u2019.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You may sometimes see job posts in this section that don\u2019t appear to match your filters. This is usually because the post contains multiple roles, and one of these roles should match your filters.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>All Paid<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This section contains all the job posts that exist on the Jobs Feed &#8211; regardless of whether they match your filter.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you\u2019re viewing the Jobs Feed through the Spotlight app, this section will be called \u2018All Roles\u2019.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>All Opportunities<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This section contains low-paid roles with smaller budgets, such as those with micro-budgets.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you\u2019re viewing the Jobs Feed through the Spotlight app, this section will also come under \u2018All Roles\u2019.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Self-tape Requests<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This section is not yet up and running, so you can ignore it for now.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It will always show \u20180\u2019, but this isn\u2019t an accurate reflection of the number of self-tape requests you\u2019re currently receiving. Don\u2019t look at that number and lose heart.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This section doesn\u2019t currently appear in the Spotlight app.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Next to each of these sections, you\u2019ll see a number in brackets. This reflects the number of unread job posts in each section, excluding updates (which are amendments casting directors will send through for job posts already in the Jobs Feed).<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How to Use the Jobs Feed<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can search through the job posts by typing in the title of a specific role (e.g. hero) or the sender\u2019s name.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You will also be able to order and filter the job posts in each section in a variety of ways, including:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The date they\u2019re sent\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The date they close\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The name of the sender<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Unread roles<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Read roles<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Roles you\u2019ve suggested yourself for<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Production type<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Contract type<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Playing age<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Location<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Please note that some of these filters will be visible on the page, but for the rest, you will need to click on \u2018View All Filters\u2019.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When you click on a job post in any section, it will open and reveal more information about the role, the contract type, the production country, specific skills needed and more. They will contain as much or as little as the casting director who posted it has chosen to write.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you\u2019re self-represented and\/or have been granted \u2018full access\u2019 by all the agents listed on your Spotlight profile, you\u2019ll be able to submit yourself at the bottom of the job post.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Take a look at our guide to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spotlight.com\/news-and-advice\/self-submitting-for-roles-on-spotlight\/\">submitting yourself for jobs through Spotlight<\/a> for more information.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"edit-filters\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How to Change Your Filter Settings<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are two ways to edit your filter settings. You can either:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">From the Jobs Feed, click on &#8216;change filter settings&#8217; in the \u2018Matching my filter\u2019 section.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">or<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">From the home page of your Spotlight account, click on the collapsible menu icon to the top left of the page (this may already be open for you).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click on \u2018My tools and settings\u2019 under the \u2018Jobs Feed\u2019 heading.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You will see a section titled \u2018Change my Spotlight Jobs Feed Filter\u2019, showing which filters you currently have in place. Click the blue button that says \u2018Change Filter Settings\u2019.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Please note that when a Spotlight account is first created, no filters will exist for the Jobs Feed. You will need to sign into your account and edit them as soon as possible, along with your email alerts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once you\u2019re on the filter settings page, you can select and edit the following filters to restrict which job posts appear in your \u2018Matching my filter\u2019 section:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Role details<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gender<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Appearance<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Playing age range<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Height<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Contract types<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Paid roles<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Low paid roles<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Paid &#8211; Other<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Production types<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Frequently used (these are the production types most commonly posted by casting directors)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Other<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Production countries<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Frequently used (these are the production countries most commonly selected by casting directors)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Other<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once you\u2019re happy with your edits, click \u2018Save and Close\u2019 to apply the changes.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How to Change Your Email Alerts<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Almost as essential as setting your filters is making sure you have email alerts set up for your Spotlight account. This will ensure you\u2019re contacted through your registered email address when a new job that matches your filters is posted.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>To edit your email alerts:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click on the collapsible menu icon to the top left of your Spotlight account home page (this may already be open for you).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click on \u2018My Tools and Settings\u2019 under the \u2018Jobs Feed\u2019 heading.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You will see a section titled \u2018Email Alerts\u2019, which will show what your alerts are currently set to.
