From \u2018Wednesday\u2019 (Season 3) to Guy Ritchie\u2019s latest film, take a look at the productions filming across the UK and Ireland in April.<\/span><\/h2>\n

Now that awards season is behind us, we look forward to what the rest of the year has in store. Blockbuster season is right around the corner and there\u2019s a huge variety of TV shows coming our way.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Whilst we enjoy the onslaught of entertainment at our finger tips, we\u2019ve done a deep dive into what\u2019s in production in April 2026 for the future.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2018Wednesday\u2019 (Season 3)<\/h3>\n

The hugely popular Netflix series, based on the original stories of <\/span>The Addams Family<\/span><\/i> and from the artistic mind of Tim Burton, returns for its third season. <\/span>Wednesday<\/span><\/i> has a star-studded cast, including Jenna Ortega as \u2018Wednesday\u2019, Spotlight member Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzm\u00e1n as her parents \u2018Morticia\u2019 and \u2018Gomez\u2019, and Isaac Ordonez as her younger brother \u2018Pugsley\u2019. Joining the cast for its third season are Tim Burton regulars Eva Green and Spotlight member Helena Bonham Carter.<\/span><\/p>\n

Season 2 saw Wednesday in her second year at Nevermore Academy as she followed the trail of a mysterious stalker. The packed season ended with Wednesday riding off into the darkness with her Uncle Fester to track down her missing friend, Enid, who faces the fate of an alpha werewolf.<\/span><\/p>\n

Wednesday (Season 3)<\/span><\/i> is currently filming in various locations in Ireland, and is expected to release in 2027.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2018Hillside Drive\u2019<\/h3>\n

Dublin born filmmaker Lenny Abrahamson is back with his next feature project <\/span>Hillside Drive<\/span><\/i>. Abrahamson\u2019s previous work includes Oscar winning <\/span>Room<\/span><\/i> (2015) and the global sensation <\/span>Normal People<\/span><\/i> (2020), which pushed Spotlight members Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar-Jones into the limelight.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Hillside Drive<\/span><\/i> is a coming of age film set in the Jewish community of Dublin in the 1970s, told through the eyes of 12 year old Davey, who navigates being a teenager at such a pinnacle time in Ireland\u2019s capital city. The cast includes Spotlight member Tom Burke and Eve Hewson as Davey\u2019s parents, whose marriage is a key focus of the film.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This exciting new Irish drama is currently filming in Dublin and Wicklow for the next few months with no release date currently confirmed.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2018Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol\u2019<\/h3>\n

The timeless Dickens classic is getting yet another adaptation, this time from horror filmmaker Ti West, whose previous works include <\/span>X <\/span><\/i>(2022), <\/span>Pearl <\/span><\/i>(2022) and <\/span>MaXXXine<\/span><\/i> (2025).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This darker take on the well-known tale of the haunted man who must travel through his life\u2019s mistakes on Christmas Eve will see Hollywood star Johnny Depp in the title role of \u2018Ebenezer Scrooge\u2019. Depp will be joined by Spotlight members Sam Claflin, Sir Ian McKellen, Andrea Riseborough and Rupert Grint.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Currently shooting in various locations around London that suit the desired Dickensian style, <\/span>Ebenezer<\/span><\/i> is expected to release on 13 November 2026 in time for the festive season.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2018Viva la Madness\u2019<\/h3>\n

British filmmaker Guy Ritchie is back with his latest action adventure film. <\/span>Viva la Madness<\/span><\/i> stars resident hard man Jason Statham and other big screen favourites including Spotlight members Jason Isaacs and Jonny Lee Miller, Ben Foster and Vinnie Jones.<\/span><\/p>\n

The film tells the story of a man whose difficult past is haunting him as he lies low in the Caribbean, waiting until the dangers of his previous job are no longer a threat and he can return to London.<\/span><\/p>\n

Viva la Madness<\/span><\/i> is currently filming in London before heading out to the Caribbean for the rest of the shoot. Although no release date is currently confirmed, it\u2019s likely to be in cinemas in late 2026\/early 2027.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2018Luther\u2019<\/h3>\n

Idris Elba returns as \u2018Detective John Luther\u2019 in the new feature-length installment of the hugely popular franchise. Whilst trying to solve the mystery of a series of seemingly random deaths across London, Luther must also avoid the target that\u2019s on his back.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Directed by Jamie Payne, whose other work includes great television shows such as <\/span>Outlander<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>Invasion <\/span><\/i>and <\/span>The Alienist<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>Luther<\/span><\/i> is currently filming around London and is expected to release on Netflix next Spring.<\/span><\/p>\n
